Mary Catherine Boyles

MILLINGTON, Md. - Mary Catherine Boyles, of Millington, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Chester River Manor, Chestertown. She was 91. Mary C. Boyles was born May 30, 1920, at home in Queen Anne's County the daughter of the late Harvey Thompson and Fanny "Cannon" Thompson. Mrs. Boyles attended the one room school house on Felton School House Rd. She married her late husband, Howard Wesley Boyles on Oct. 13, 1938. She spent most of her life as a farmer's wife helping tend to the farm and raising the family. Mrs. Boyles was a member of Holden's Chapel Church and Busic's Church Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, picking lima beans, growing flowers, cooking and cleaning. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Nelson; one son, Leonard Boyles; four sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Coleman of Millington; daughter-in-law, Peggy Boyles Hayman and Raymond of Sudlersville; four grandchildren, Billy Boyles and Laurie of Sudlersville, Allen "Po" Boyles and wife Chrissy of Millington, Audrey Ann Lenox and husband Mark of Sudlersville, Brian Boyles and partner Charlie of Sudlersville; eight great-grandchildren, Joey Boyles, Robbie Boyles, Kevin Boyles, Nikki Boyles, Lauren Boyles, Samantha Lenox, Alyssa Lenox, Christina Lenox; five great-great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Boyles, Auden Meikle, Logan Boyles, Brinlee Boyles, Brayden Boyles; a loving niece, Louise Strausburg of Fallston; two sisters-in-law, Pearl Cummerford, and Catherine Fox; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be noon, Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington. A visitation will also be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will follow the service at Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
