LAUREL - Mary Beatrice Wilkerson went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Clayton, Del. the daughter of the late John U. and Edith (Johnson) Stevens. She began her career as a nurses aide at Kent General Hospital. She also worked in production at Playtex in Dover, and in line production at the former Delaney Company, now known as the Diagra Company, in Bridgeville. She loved her gardening, especially plants and flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and watching TV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Edwin Leon Wilkerson in 2002; a grandson Gary Lee Parson in 1985; three sisters and a brother. She is survived by one son Eugene Wilkerson, of Laurel; three daughters Eileen E. Parsons, of Bridgeville, Bonnie Twilley and her husband Monty, and Brenda Lee Wilkerson and her fiancee' Bill McMullin, both of Laurel; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at The Ark, Seaford Wesleyan Church, 26630 Sussex Highway, Seaford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington.
