MILFORD - Mary Anne Worthington, of Milford, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, in Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. She was 79. Mary Anne was born in Berlin, Md., daughter of the late Jerome Adkins and Laura Jane Wyatt Adkins. She was preceded in death by her late husband. Earle "Jack" Worthington whom she married Aug. 14, 1952. Mrs. Worthington graduated from Selbyville High School in 1947 and the Milford School of Nursing in June 1950. She was a full time mother and house wife, as well as, working as a nurse at Milford Hospital. She loved traveling, especially to Williamsburg, Va. She enjoyed watching her husband bowl and was a member of Calvary Methodist Church in Milford. She loved gardening and making flower arrangements. In her most recent years, due to poor health, she was under the loving care of her son David. She is survived by a brother, Harold D. Adkins and his wife Anita of Selbyville; several cousins; four nieces, Denise Hearn, Donna Blackburn, Susan Esham and Carol Reed; and a sister-in-law, Janet Bailey. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
