Mary A. Walls Hill

Dover - Mary A. Walls Hill passed away peacefully on Friday April 20, 2018 at Delaware Hospice in Milford after a four year battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Charles J. and Mary Theresa Fisher. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1960.
Mary worked as a Secretary and as a Teachers' Aide at Glenwood Elementary School in Media, Pa. before retiring in 2000. She was the Weekend Coordinator at Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation until she was widowed in 2001 and moved to Dover. Mary loved living history and enjoyed demonstrating fiber related handcrafts at Dover Days, the Delaware State Fair and the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village. She was an avid Lacemaker, spinner and knitter. She was a founding member of the Diamond State Lacemakers, a member of the Liberty Lacers and the Thistledown Fiber Guild.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Walls.
She is survived by her second husband of nine years, William Hill of Dover; children, Helen Hernandez of Florida, Steven (Bridgette) Walls of Georgia, David (Nancy) Walls of Pennsylvania and Jeffrey Walls of Pennsylvania; step-son, Bill Jr. (Cathy) Hill of Newark; daughter in spirit, Kim (Eric) Czerwinski of Dover; grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth), Larissa, Milena, Brenden, Maura, Wendy (Deborah), Amy (Pete), Sarah, Charlie, and Kira; seven great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many, many very dear friends.
A Celebration of life service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State St., Dover, May 12, 2018 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation or the American Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.
