MILLINGTON, Md. - Martha Mae Marvel of Millington died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 92.
Mrs. Marvel was born June 20, 1914, in Templeville, daughter of the late Noah and May (Cahall) Merchant.
She worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson"s Restaurant, Millington, in the 1960s and 1970s, but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Mrs. Marvel enjoyed playing bingo in her earlier years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Marvel, in 1988; and a son, Charles Henry Marvel.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, William N. and Mary Marvel of Chestertown and Roy C. and Ann Marvel and Donald L. and Joyce Marvel, all of Millington; a brother, Elwood Merchant of Rock Hall; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Millington.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
