SMYRNA - Martha Bowser, formerly of Smyrna, passed away on April 13, 2018 in Christiana Hospital after a brief illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bussard (Rodney); her sons, William (Maureen) and Alan (Lisa); her grandchildren, Christy Clendenin (Bee), Michael, Kelly, and Lauren Bowser; and great-grandsons, Zachary, Colby, and Jonathan Clendenin. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William E. Bowser; her parents Ira and Sara (Patton) Zeigler; her sister, Kathryn Thrush; and her infant son, David.
Martha enjoyed RVing all over the U.S. In her later years, she spent winters in Ormond Beach, Fla., sunbathing, cross-stitching and doing puzzle books. In the last year of her life, Martha relished living independently at Forward Manor in Wilmington where she made many friends with her quick wit and friendly smile.
Martha's family thanks the staff of Forwood Manor and the Transitional Medical Unit at Christiana Hospital for the care they provided her.
Interment in Worthington, Pennsylvania will occur at a later date. For online condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
