Martha Lipincott Little

Martha Lipincott Little, 93 LEWES - Martha Lipincott Little, 93, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Beebe Medical Hospital, Lewes. She is the daughter of the late Wallace Lippincott and Martha Matlack Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor J. Little Sr.; and daughter, Martha Nobles. Mrs. Little attended West Chester State Teachers College, in Chester Pa. From there she went on to teach in various schools throughout Lewes Rehoboth area retiring for Indian River School District in 1982. Mrs. Little taught science and art. She was very gifted and talented painting on canvas, an avid hunter, great sharp shooter and terrific fisherman. She was a licensed Captain and ran fishing parties out of the Indian River Inlet and was the first woman to catch a marlin at the Indian River Inlet in the 1940's. She was a member of Lewes Church of Christ- the Crossing in Milton. Earlier years, she was very prominent in the Eastern Star. Her and her late husband loved square dancing and bowling in the early 60's and 70's. She was born birth rite a Quaker and in her early 80's converted to Christianity and was very proud to be a Christian. She loved the outdoors, birds animals, loved growing fruit trees and nature. She is survived by her son, Jerry "Vic" Little Jr.; three daughters, Toni Marie Pannell, Reni Folgate, Loni Polk; and 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Also a very dear friend, who was like an angel, who took care of her and give her reason to live these past few years William Dallas Warrington. A celebration of Life will be 7 p.m., Monday, April 12, at The Crossing, Rt. 1, Milton. Interment will be at Woodstown Cemetery in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made to Building Tomorrow Fund 15183 Coastal Highway, Milton, DE 19968. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services.
