PHILADELPHIA - Martha E. Joynes passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007, in Somerton Center, Philadelphia, after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Joshua and Emma Joynes. She was born in Horntown, Va. Martha was living Philadelphia at the time of her death. She was 81.
Martha worked at the Hershey Co. in Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing three granddaughters, Regina Postley of Dagsboro, Norissa Sears of Laurel and Twanda Hills of Virginia; one grandson, Sherwood Joynes Jr. of Laurel; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Addie Almira Joynes and Bertie Joynes, both of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Horntown, at noon, where a viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
