Marta "Mami" Rodriguez Morales of Dover died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 79.
She was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Vicente Rodríguez and Felícita Morales.
She was married to the late Jaime Figueroa Sr.
She is survived by a sister, Cándida Rodríguez Morales; six children, Félix Rodríguez, Sonia I. Figueroa, Nitza E. Figueroa, Ana M. Figueroa, José A. Figueroa and Jaime M. Figueroa Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Victoria Teamah Figueroa; several grandchildren, Angel Andino, Odrix N. Navarro, Jaime Navarro, Joyce M. García, Larry S. García, Mary A. García, Marta M. García, Juan C. García, Abigail García, Cecilio García, Carlos Pino, Carla S. Pino, Marta M. Figueroa, Jaimarie Figueroa, Jaison Figueroa; step-grandsons, Benny Wemh and Benji Wemh, and 10 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins and faithful church family, Lifting Up Holy Hands Ministries For Jesus Christ.
She was a loving and devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law. She loved and cared for every child that came her way. She had a great love for music. She will be missed very much.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Monday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
