DOVER - Marjory (Eliason) Records of Dover died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in her home. She was 89.
Mrs. Records was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Mount Pleasant, daughter of the late Morris F. and Clara W.E. (Paxon) Eliason.
She graduated from Goldey College as an executive secretary.
Mrs. Records worked in the treasurers" department of DuPont Co., and later in her husband"s office.
In the late "40s, a group of ladies met to create a junior board for Kent General Hospital, Dover, at which time she was elected president. This was the beginning of her volunteer work. Over the years, she volunteered as a foster grandmother at Central Middle School and Fairfield Elementary, at the Blood Bank and as an Ombudsman for 10 years at Green Meadows. She also worked in the Gift Shoppe at Kent General Hospital and helped at Bombay Hook. At the inception of the Hospice in Dover, she volunteered as an office worker and remained there for several years.
Mrs. Records was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover. She was also a member of the League of Women Voters when it was first started in Dover. The positions she held were vice president, bulletin editor and as several committee chairs.
She loved and created beauty in all its ways. She enjoyed flowers, herbs, shells, birds and all of nature. She loved the Earth and all its living things. She was a classy, unique and beautiful woman, who gardened in her high heels.
Mrs. Records was an inspiration to all who knew her to keep on learning, changing and growing each and every day. She lived her life fully.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Records Sr., on June 7, 1994.
