CECILTON, Md. - Marion H. Poore of Cecilton died Aug. 6, 2007, in Union Hospital, Elkton, Md. She was 78.
Mrs. Poore was born on Nov. 27, 1928, daughter of the late Earl S. and Hilda King Lockwood.
She spent most of her life in Earleville, Md. until retiring to Earleton Village in Cecilton in the early 1990"s.
Mrs. Poore worked as a Cecil County school bus driver for 28 years with contractors, Carl Williams, Ron Evans and Joe Gilbert.
She was a member of St. Paul"s U.M. Church, where she served as a trustee, choir member and chairman of the kitchen.
Mrs. Poore was a life member and past president of Cecilton V.F.C. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, C. Kenneth Poore Sr. in 1985; four brothers, Robert Lockwood, Walter Lockwood, Paul Lockwood and John Lockwood; and a sister, Doris Powell.
She is survived by four sons, Charles K. Poore Jr. and his wife, Beverly, and Donald Poore, both of Earleville, Ronald Poore and his wife, Margaret and Ricky Poore and his wife, Diane, all of Elkton; a daughter, Carolyn Pitcher of Cecilton; five brothers, Earle Lockwood of Cecilton, Harry Lockwood of Earleville, Allan Lockwood of Arizona, Carroll Lockwood of Warwick, Md., and Roland Lockwood of Plattsburg, N.Y.; four sisters, Mary Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas, Jean Ritter of Chesapeake City, Md., Edith Stubbs of Elkton, and Mamie Haggerty of Earleville; nine grandchildren, Rhonda, Michael, Jaime, Jennifer, K.C., Shannon, Tiffany, Danny and Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton.
