MILFORD - Marilyn T. Jefferson, of Milford, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 60. She was born in Laplata, Md., the daughter of Anne Lucille Wedding and the late Kossie B. Wedding. She operated a Day Care in her home for 37 and a half years. She was a charter member of the Independent Bible Fellowship Church in Harrington and the Faith Independent Church in Milford. She played the piano at the Faith Independent Church for 20 years and also played the piano at the Heritage Nursing Home. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Milford. She participated in AWANA for several years. Sewing was one of her legacies. She did monogramming for the Little League teams in the area and also made Halloween costumes and personalized items. She was also an avid photographer and a Princess House Consultant for many years. She had a heart of gold and kept a positive attitude throughout her illness. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Ann Santaro and Violet Keeler. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles F. Jefferson; sister, Lillian Clark Smith of Mountain Lake, Va.; a brother, Kossie C. Wedding and his wife Helen of Wilmington, N.C.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jefferson of Milford; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis A. Gilroy of Nanjemoy, Md., and Betty Jean Warrington of Milton; many nieces and nephews, Yvonne White, Duane Jefferson, Franklin Warrington, Michael Warrington, David Warrington, Jason Wedding, Dale Smith, Peggy Day, Donna Gilberts, Debbie Gilroy, Steve Gilroy, and Rex Gilroy; and her special daycare kids, nephew, Joshua Jefferson and Megan Hudson and Sean Hudson. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, March 17, at the First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Rd., Milford. Visitation was held Monday, March 16, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Interment will be held in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
