DENTON, Md. - Marie T. Trice of Denton died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, surrounded by her family at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 93.
Born in Baltimore, Mrs. Trice was the daughter of the late Cornelius Neal Mills and Fannie E. Moore Mills.
She grew up in Cambridge, where she had moved to when she was 12 years old.
She married her husband, Benjamin M. Trice, on Jan. 2, 1937. He died Aug. 2, 1997.
Mrs. Trice had worked as a seamstress in local shirt factories.
She had also worked as a line worker in local canneries and poultry processing plants.
She retired from Saulsbury Bros. in Ridgely.
Mrs. Trice attended Grace Methodist, St. Luke's United Methodist, and the Calvary Baptist churches in Denton.
She was a 50-year charter member and a life member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Willie C. Mills, Ottie W. Mills, Edward B. Mills, and Ira C. Mills; and two sisters, Lorraine F. Mills and Anna E. Mills.
Mrs. Trice is survived by two sons, "Sonny" Benjamin C. Trice of Greensboro, and W. Roger Trice of Laurel, Del.; three grandchildren, Brenda Trice, Lisa Trice, and Roger Trice; 10 great-grandchildren, Shelly Darling, Teresa Trice, Heather Cheney, Melissa Cheney, Rachel Cheney, Bobby Ward, Matthew Trice, Amanda Trice, Emily Trice, and Robert Coventry; and one great-great-granddaughter, Jordan Cheney.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St. in Denton, where friends may call from one hour prior.
The interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Beulah.
