Marie "Grace" Kearnen, 71

DOVER - Marie "Grace" Kearnen of Dover departed this life peacefully Friday, July 13, 2007, after losing her battle with cancer. She died in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 71.

Grace was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Salvatore and Catherine Abatiello.

She will be remembered most as a loving mother and grandmother. She lived most of her life on Long Island, where she raised her family.

Grace lived a very active life until she became ill. She never stopped smiling.

She loved the outdoors, playing in her garden, going to the beach and playing golf. Grace also loved cooking, line dancing bowling and was an active member in Wild Meadows where she lived, she was also a member of the Wild Meadows Red Hatters.

Grace was a friend to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Michael and Adeline.

Grace is survived by her children, Frank Furfaro and his wife Karen of Little Falls, N.J., Marie Keller and her husband Wayne of Dover, and Catherine Duda and her husband Kevin of Trumbull, Conn.; her grandchildren, Christina and Allison Furfaro, Eva and Dana Keller, Sean and Leslie Duda; her husband, James Kearnan; her brothers, Joseph Allison and his wife Irene, Salvatore Abatiello and his wife Betty, and Arthur Abatiello and his wife Irene; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association of Delaware, 1021 Gilpin Ave., Suite 202, Wilmington, DE 19806; or the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
