DOVER, DE - Marie E. Neitzelt passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Milford. Marie was born in Milford, DE the daughter of the late James John and Pearl Pauline (Tatman) McCole.
She was a graduate of Milford High School. Marie loved children and for several years baby-sat and provided home care for children. She then went to work at Kent General Hospital working as part of the kitchen staff for several years before retiring. Marie enjoyed crocheting and loved making blankets to be given away to each of the babies born at Kent General Hospital over the years. She lived for music, no matter what genre and loved to dance along with the tunes. She also enjoyed drawing. Marie was a bright, cheery woman, who never met a stranger. Everybody was welcome in her home, and she was known for giving the best hugs. She also had a love for both cats and dogs.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her two sons, Jason and Jeff Neitzelt.
She is survived by a grandson, Ethan J. Neitzelt; and a granddaughter, Hannah Neitzelt; two brothers, Barry McCole and his wife Maggie and Mike McCole; a sister, Debbie Soares and her husband Carlton, Jr.; as well as two nieces and a nephew.
A Celebration of Marie's Life will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the First State Animal Shelter and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
