MILFORD - Marie A. Millwood, of Milford, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Milford Center Nursing Home. She was 85. Marie was born in Ellendale, daughter of the late Ralph R. and Elizabeth E. (Short) Webb. She had worked at L D Caulk and Silco. She also started as a waitress, and then was cashier at the Milford Diner for over 50 years, retiring at the age of 80. She had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Millwood was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Norwood; two sons, Arthur and Ronnie Norwood; a daughter, Doris Ann Norwood; and brother, Norman Webb. She is survived by her husband, James Edward Millwood; two sons and their wives, Milton T. and Connie Norwood of Milford, and Dennis J. and Rita Norwood of Millsboro; a brother, Richard Earl Webb; and a sister, Isabelle Collins, both of Milford; five grandchildren, Miles Norwood, Michele Warren, Kimberly Norwood, Jessyca Norwood and Jamie Wyatt; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Norwood, Hayley Norwood and Brock Layton. The family wishes to send a special thank you to The Homestead Alzheimer's Unit at Milford Center Nursing Home for all of the care and compassion shown to Mrs. Millwood. A Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to: Milford Center Nursing Home, Attention: The Homestead Alzheimer's Unit, 700 Marvel Rd, Milford De 19963.
