Marianna Dana
Lasocha, 86
DOVER - M. Dana Lasocha passed away in her sleep on Nov. 24, 2023, after spending the day with family. She was born in Werszczyca, Poland to Karol and Stefania (Mazur) Frykowski in June of 1937, the youngest of five children.
After barely surviving WWII, she moved to Warsaw for school and, after completing her education, traveled to California to visit family. There, through a chance encounter in front of a church, she met her love, Henry Lasocha, and married him in 1958. Together they built a wonderful life for their children. Henry, also a native of Poland, was a military veteran. He spent over 23 years in the Air Force and Marianna knew all the difficulties of being a military wife. Later, Marianna's strength and devotion to Henry sustained them both as she cared for him through many years of debilitating illness. After he passed away in 2000, she continued to run the family business, enjoyed pastimes of gardening and knitting, time at the beach and the companionship of her beloved dogs, Brody, Daisy and Teddy. Most importantly, she loved people and being surrounded by family and friends, who loved her dearly.
Marianna Dana is survived by three daughters and two sons, Teresa Quinn (David), Richard Lasocha, Ann Washburn (Tom), Linda Wilson (Richard) and Mark Lasocha (Belynda); as well as sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by nephews, nieces and other family still living in Poland. A viewing will be held from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 at the Funeral Home of Michael J Ambruso, 1175 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Interment will be in at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
