Marian D. Carter

FELTON - Marian D. Carter, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012, at home. Marian was born in Milford, daughter of the late Franklin and Nexia (Johnson) Dawson. She was a retired bookkeeper and had worked with both the Department of Agriculture and Corporation of Trust. She loved dancing and going to the VFW and Harrington Moose. In addition to her parents, Marian is preceded in death by her husband, James Carter. She is survived by three children, Earle R. Todd, Jr., William E. King, Jr., and wife Kathy and Robert L. King and wife Brenda; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call after 10:00am. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the Harrington Moose Lodge, 16268 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312 or Fellowship Health Resources, 340 Main Street, Millsboro, DE 19966.
