SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Maria P. Bangal formerly of Dover, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 in Scottsdale, Ariz. where she had been residing for the past three years.
Maria was born April 1, 1961 in Alos Alaminos Pangasinan in the Philippines to Consolacion Suba and Francisco Bangal. She spent the first nine years of her life in the Philippines.
Upon coming to the states, she grew up in the Dover area and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School. Shortly after high school, she moved to the Boston area for nearly a decade. She returned to Delaware in the early 90's. Maria lived her life enjoying what she loved, spending time boating, hanging out at the beach, traveling extensively and pursuing her art. She was an active member of the Dover artist community; often showcasing her art work in shows and supporting other artists, expanded her creativity into constructing and making jewelry, clothes, bags and other personal items by reusing items that would otherwise be thrown away. She pursued this endeavor through her start-up company, Pretty N Green. Maria also ran a successful online business through eBay selling high end fashion. She was a very strong, outgoing independent woman who took care of everyone else and would drop everything she was doing when someone needed her.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Francisco S. Bangal and Fernand S. Bangal. She is survived by her mother, Consolacion Suba; father, Francisco Bangal; sisters, Teresita B. Britton and Consuelo B. Campbell; nephews and nieces, Jason P. Guajardo, Maria B. Schroeder, Eric Schroeder, Jimmy Blake, Francis Bangal, Michael Britton, Drew Kirby, and Brian Kirby; brothers-in-law, David Britton and Dale Campbell; sisters-in-law, Marcelina Bangal and Anne Kirby; great niece, Cora Guajardo; aunt, Aurora Manalang of St. Louis, Mo.; and cousins, Ellen Paragas, Francisco Paragas, and Rolando Paragas.
