Marguritte Ruth Bartz

HENDERSON, Md. - Marguritte "Peggy" Ruth Bartz, of Henderson, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 76. She was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Henderson, to the late Alfred and Roxannie Hutson Melvin. Mrs. Bartz, a lifetime resident of Henderson, was employed throughout the years with Playtex of Dover, Del., Jarrell's Cannery of Goldsboro, San Del Packing Plant of Sandtown, General Clothing of Smyrna, Del., and Greensboro Garment from which she retired. She was a member of the Bethel Wesleyan Church of Goldsboro. She enjoyed church, gardening, sewing, and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Bartz Sr.; her daughters, Patricia Ann Bartz and Sandra Marie Greenley; and her five sisters and seven brothers. She is survived by two sons, Norman F. Bartz Jr. and wife Diane of Henderson, and J. Thomas Bartz and wife Pat of Marydel; one daughter, Brenda Bartz Sipple and friend Calvin of Henderson; one sister, Anna Mae Squire of Henderson; one son in-law, Bobby Greenley of Henderson; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 2, 2010, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Fleegle and Helfenbein funeral home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro. Services will be held Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.
