Marguerite Y. Ward

DOVER - Marguerite Y. Ward, formerly of Greensboro, Md., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at the Westminster Village Nursing Home in Dover. Born in Federalsburg, Md. on Nov. 10, 1910, Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late Samuel Loveday Young and Elizabeth Cheezum Young. Her husband, James Calvin Ward, died Jan.17, 1955. Mrs. Ward lived in Caroline County, Md. most of her life until 2000 when she moved to Dover. She had worked as the secretary for the Caroline County Circuit Court Judge DeWeese Carter. She had been active in the Caroline Senior Center in Denton, Md. where she was also a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ward is survived by her brother, Harrison E. Young of Silver Spring, Md.; her daughter-in-law, Geraldine C. Ward of Choptank, Md.; two grandchildren, Deborah Hawkins (Donald) of Dover, and James E. Ward, II, of Choptank; and three great-grandchildren, Chris Ward, Kerri Brooke (Dan), and Alexis Ward. She was predeceased by one son, James Edward Ward; one brother, Samuel Young; and one sister, Gertrude Koenig. Funeral services will be 2 o'clock on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton where friends may call from 1 until 2 p.m. before the service.
