DOVER - Marguerite Alviset of Dover died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, in her home. She was 79.
Mrs. Alviset was born in Lincoln, daughter of the late Harry and Lydia (Phillips) Passwaters.
She was raised in Lincoln; moved to Milford, residing there until 1966; and moved to Henderson, Md., where she resided until moving back to Delaware in 1999.
Mrs. Alviset was an inspector for Playtex, Dover, for 33 years, retiring in 1989.
She enjoyed playing bingo and playing the slots, bowling, going out to dinner, going to the beach, playing cards and playing video games.
Mrs. Alviset was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Milford, and worked at the Milford Community Food Bank.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter D. Postles Sr.; her second husband, Charles H. Thorpe Jr.; and brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of four years, Lloyd B. Alviset; two daughters and a son-in-law, Doris Louise and Eugene Buchanan of Lincoln, and Wanda M. Youmans of Dover; a son and a daughter-in-law, Walter D. Jr. and Dee Postles of Harrington; eight grandchildren; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Robert Kirby will officiate.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 S.E. Front St., Milford, DE 19963; or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
