Marguarite A. 'Gussie' Isdell, 68

MILFORD - Marguarite A. "Gussie" Isdell, of Milford, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 68. She was born in Cape Charles, Va., the daughter of the late Mary "Belote" and Thomas Bennett Chandler. Mrs. Isdell and her husband owned and operated Isdell Sanitation for many years. She also worked as a delivery driver for the News Journal. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Isdell in 2000; a son, John Isdell; and a brother, Thomas Chandler Jr. She is survived by her nieces, Marion Chandler, and Casey Gore and her husband Marcel; five great-nieces and nephews; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and a brother, David Chandler and his wife Linda of Milford. Funeral services were be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N. W. Front Street, Milford. Interment will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
