BETHANY BEACH, Del. - Margot "Polly" Snyder Bennett went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. Polly was born in Bethany Beach, Del. on May 6, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents Brooks and Eleanore (Goddard) Snyder. Polly's oldest son, Steven Sidney Bennett, died in 1983. She graduated from Lord Baltimore High School in 1954. She was captain of the basketball team in her senior year. She attended Eastern Christian College with her husband and they entered into the Christian Ministry in 1957. Some say she was the 'backbone' of her husband's ministry. Together they established several Christ/Christian churches on Delmarva. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, David L. Bennett who is the camp resident of the Delmarva Christian Service Camp near Trap Pond; additional survivors include her daughter, Debbie Taylor and husband Scott of Wilmington; two sons, Mark Bennett and wife Lisa, and Timothy Bennett all of Ocean View, Del.; her sister, Jane Wilgus and husband Donald of Bethany Beach, Del.; brother, Colonel Paul Snyder and wife Virginia of Upland, Calif.; grandchildren, Hilary Daugherty and husband Aaron, Evan Taylor, Eric Paris, Joshua Paris, Zach Paris, Steven and wife Alyssa Bennett, Heather and husband Noah Bilger; and great-grandchildren, Talon Bennett, Gavin Bilger, and Kami Bilger; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at the Ocean View Church of Christ, 55 West Avenue, Ocean View, DE; viewing will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Old Paths Church of Christ Cemetery in Georgetown, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Georgetown, DE.
