GREENWOOD - Marg Groetsema, formerly of Greenwood, passed away on April 30, 2014 after a long battle with Leukemia. She was 52. She was born on July 5, 1961 in Greenwood, the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Nancy Peters. She had lived in Chicago, Illinois and Vancouver, Washington with her husband and daughter since 1998. Marg was actively involved with the Vancouver Dance Theater, loved traveling with her husband Dale to BBQ competitions, spending time with her daughter Anna Maria and flying back to Delaware for the holidays. She also treasured her time with friends in Washington and Delaware over a cup of coffee. Her friends and family remember her as fiercely loyal, loving, and funny and the strongest woman they ever met. Strong but a true gentle soul. Marg is survived by her husband of 15 years, Dale Groetsema; daughter, Anna "Maria" Groetsema; brothers, Hans (spouse Sherry) and Carl (spouse Bonnie) Peters; sister, Maria "Chrissy" (Spouse Bill) Rust; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Greenwood Methodist Church, 101 West Market Street, Greenwood. Visitation will resume 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Greenwood Methodist Church. Services will start at 1 p.m., followed by burial in the family plot at St. Johnstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her name at WWW.LLS.ORG Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
