Margaret J. Zimmerman, 89

DOVER - Margaret J. Zimmerman, 89, of Dover, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Christiana Medical Center, Wilmington. She was born on June 9, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Charles and Mary Shaw Dollay. Mrs. Zimmerman and her late husband Ernest moved to Delaware in 1947 from Long Island to start farming and then later began E-Z Farms, where she assisted him in the family farm business. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Zimmerman Sr.; and sons, Ernest J. Zimmerman Jr. and Charles Mark Zimmerman. She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Zimmerman of Kamuela, Hawaii; sisters-in-law, Anna Wells of Port Jefferson Long Island, N.Y., Cecilia Z. Loucka of Southold Long Island, N.Y., and Maureen Zimmerman (Jacob) of Dover; grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan, Rebecca, Jason, Kristol, Jonathan, and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Daisy, Aydin, Hannah, Ryan, and Joshua; and many nieces and nephews on Long Island and in Delaware. Remembrance Services will be 1 p.m. Friday July, 17, at Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Kent General Hospital Building Fund, 640 South State Street, Dover, DE 19904; or Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
