Margaret F. Burke, 89 MILFORD - Margaret F. Burke, of Milford, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 89. Mrs. Burke was born in Tullyrahan, Ireland, on July 4, 1919, to the late Thomas and Catherine Farnon O'Hare. She became a registered nurse while working at the Midwood Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was also a nurse at the Methodist Hospital while living in Philadelphia. After retiring she moved to Hernado, Fla., where she lived for the last twenty years until moving to Milford a few months ago. Mrs. Burke enjoyed doing crafts with others at the senior centers, both taking and teaching classes. She was also enthusiastic about T.O.P.S.(take off pounds sensibly). She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Burke in 1978. Mrs. Burke is survived by two sons, James T. Burke and his wife Veronica of Milford, and Anthony J. Burke Jr. of Branson, Mo.; a daughter, Catherine McNamara and her husband Robert of Greentown, Pa.; a sister, Beatrice Larkin of Princeton, N.J.; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Powell, Regina Burke, Erin Loretta McNamara, Kelly Dukes, and Mark Dayton. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, south, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19904.
