Margaret Clarke Briscoe

GALENA, Md. - Margaret Clarke Briscoe, 85 of Galena, Md., died November 16, 2014 in Shore Nursing and Rehab, Chestertown, Md. Mrs. Briscoe was born on December 31, 1928, daughter of the late Raymond W. and Martha O'Dell Pusey Clarke. She was raised in Snow Hill, Md., and has lived in Galena since 1969, where she raised her family. Mrs. Briscoe was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Millington, where she was a Lay Speaker, taught Sunday school, and was past president of their United Methodist Woman. She also was a member of Greenfingers Garden Club, New Yarmouth Quester's, Galena Homemakers and served on the Kent County Committee of Aging and Maryland's Most Beautiful Committee. Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard C. Northam in 1973; her second husband of 35 years, William Briscoe in 2012; and her sister, Mary Anna Adkins. She is survived by her four children, Sharon Jamison and her husband Tom, Robin Flaherty and her husband Richard, Donna Garrison and Richard 'Bruce' Northam and his wife Joanie; three grandchildren, Kelley Mardesich, Stacey Davis and Dennis 'D.J.' Davis, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Noah and Davis Mardesich and Quinn and Wyatt Arnold; and extended family, Ben and Virginia Ellingsworth and Dominique and Michael Mohen. A viewing will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., where funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial in Galena Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to a church of your choice c/o Galena Funeral Home, P.O.
