Madge Anna Thomas

RIDGELY - Madge Anna Thomas died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. Born in Ridgely, Miss Thomas was the daughter of the late Milton Hysore Thomas and Ella Moore Thomas. She had lived in Ridgely all of her life, graduating from the Ridgely High School. Miss Thomas then graduated from the Salisbury Normal School and then received her degree in Education from the University of MD. She taught school in Marydel for two years, Goldsboro in one and a half years, and then came to Ridgely where she taught the remainder of her forty-three years of service, retiring in 1971. She was a member of the County, State, and National Retired Teachers Association. She was a Lifetime Member of the MD Congress of Parents and Teachers by the Ridgely P.T.A. Miss Thomas is survived by her many friends and students from her long and wonderful life. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton where friends may call from 11 to 12 before the service. The interment will follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery in Centreville.
