HARTLY-Madelyn F. Legar of Hartly died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in her home. She was 78.
Mrs. Legar was born July 5, 1928, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Frank P. and Helen Walls Brynes.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, gardening and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt "Pete" Legar in 1978.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, William and Wanda Connors of Hartly and Donald and Martha Legar of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carole and Richard Mull of Gastonia, N.C. and Virginia Meekins of Hartly; a sister, Evelyn Price of Middletown; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Ledbetter, Richard and Erin Mull, Meredith Legar, Henry Meekins, Steve and Patty Connors, Kimberly Connors, Christopher and Rebekah Legar; and great-grandchildren, Mark Humbertson, Megan Humbertson, Steven Connors, Katelyn Connors, Hayden Gibson, Mallori Leighanchra and Carolynn Mull.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or the Hartly Fire Co. Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 50, Hartly, DE 19953.
