Madeline Marie (Lloyd) Whiteley, 85
SMYRNA - Madeline Marie (Lloyd) Whiteley, of Smyrna, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She was 85.
She was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church.
Mrs. Whiteley was former president of the Ladies of The Elks, Lewes, and later became one of the first female members of the Elks Lodge.
She had originally retired from the Drexel Hill, Pa., area in 1981.
Mrs. Whiteley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Whiteley in 2004.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert A. Whiteley of Catonsville, Md., and Edward C. Whiteley of Pensacola Beach, Fla.; granddaughter, Christine Whiteley of Anderson, S.C.; and grandson, Stephen Whiteley of Jacksonville, N.C.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Del. 1 at Five Points, Lewes with Father Jim Hreha officiating.
Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
