Madeline Churilla

GREENWOOD - Madeline Churilla, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 27, 1922, in Wheeling, W.Va., daughter of the late M. and Sadie (George) Caspar. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Churilla was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Churilla in 1982. She is survived by five children including her daughter, Regina C. Warnick of Greenwood, whom she lived with and was her longtime caregiver; ten grandchildren including, Christopher Schaffner of Seaford, Karyn Lorenzo Rotzinger, Jon-Rene Holmes, and Ryan Warnick, all of Greenwood; and 11 great-grandchildren. A visitation for friends and family will be hosted by, Karyn and Jon-Rene on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville. All other services will be private. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Delaware Hospice for their support and exceptional care in Mrs. Churilla's final months.
