DELMAR - Mabel A. Bailey passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at her home. She was born in Georgetown to the late George B. Sr. and Susie (Rash) Johnson on March 29, 1927. Mabel has also lived in Wilmington and Millsboro. She was a cosmetician with the Cosmetics Department at Strawbridge's in Wilmington, retiring in 1989. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John F. 'Juke' Bailey; and all of her siblings, Margaret A. Johnson, George B. Johnson, Jr., Ellis B. Johnson and Hughes D. Johnson. Mabel is survived by her niece, Carol A. McCloud, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11 am in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with a time of visitation beginning at 10 am. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be sent in her name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
