M. Kathryn Jones, 86

WILMINGTON - M. Kathryn Jones, of Wilmington, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Bayhealth -Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 86.

Mrs. Jones was born May 22, 1922, in Abington, Va., the daughter of the late Thomas H. Murray and Cora "Cade" Murray.

She married Benjamin E. Jones Nov. 10, 1948, and spent most of her life as a homemaker taking care of her family.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Marshallton United Methodist Church in Wilmington, and was very active in the Marion Rowe Circle at church.

She was a very strong-willed lady who enjoyed cooking, playing cards, working in her yard planting flowers and traveling to Virginia to see her relatives.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah E. Jones in 2007.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Benjamin E. Jones of Wilmington; three daughters, Hope Morton of North Potomac, Md., Ruth Ann Bentley of Smyrna, and Edna Mae Boutwell of Smyrna; one stepson, Howard Ronald Jones of Smyrna; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Marshallton United Methodist Church, 1105 Stanton Road, Wilmington, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Millington Asbury Cemetery in Millington.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be sent to Marshallton United Methodist Church Elevator Fund, 1105 Stanton Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
