Louise Wood, 65

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Louise Wood of Chestertown died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, in Land"s End Farm, Quaker Neck, Chestertown. She was 65.

Mrs. Wood was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Chestertown, daughter of the late Howard Alvin and Anna (Cahall) Milby.

She was raised in Chestertown and, after her marriage, moved to and helped her husband work the Clanahan Shop Farm near Centreville. Following her husband"s death in 1999, she moved to Land"s End Farm to care for Mrs. McAlpin. Upon Mrs. McAlpin"s death, Mrs. Wood was asked to continue on at the farm. Mrs. Wood also, at the time of her death, was a bus driver for County Ride, a service provided by the Queen Anne"s County Department of Aging.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paul Fred Wood Sr.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Kimble of Chestertown; a son and a daughter-in-law, Paul Fred Jr. and Cherry Wood of Queenstown; a sister, Pat Elburn of Harmony; a half-brother, Wilbur Carlson of Barclay; a half-sister, Karen Sue Carlson of Burtonsville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Queen Anne"s Department of Aging, 104 Powell St., Centreville, MD 21617; or to the American Heart Assn.-Queen Anne"s County, Md., 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
