MIDDLETOWN - Louise R. Carpenter of Middletown passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family and her grand-dog, Muffin Ann. She was 76.
She was born in Golts, Md., and was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rausch, and her daughter, Nancy McFarland.
Mrs. Carpenter graduated from Galena High School.
She worked for Schagrin Gas Co. and retired from Rausch Fuel Oil in 2002.
Mrs. Carpenter"s hobbies included reading, shopping, a love of flowers and spending time with her family.
She will be remembered for her warm heart and kind ways.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Louise"s caregiver, Tonya Austin, and the Delaware Hospice.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John R. Carpenter III; one granddaughter, Kimberly Emerson Cox and her husband Jeremy; a great-grandson, Colby; a son-in-law, John McFarland; two brothers, Joe Rausch and his wife Helena, and Robert Rausch and his wife Barbara; one sister, Sarah Emerson and her husband Robert; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Edith Chas.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Daniels & Hutchinson Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
A visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer"s Association Memory Walk Team "Forget Me Not," 306 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805; or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
