Louis Edward Rochester, 79

BARCLAY, Md. - Louis Edward Rochester of Barclay died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. He was 79.

Mr. Rochester was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Barclay, son of the late Frank and Addie (Stansbury) Rochester.

He attended Barclay School and Kennard High School in Centreville.

Mr. Rochester worked for several years on various farms as a construction worker and retired from Kraft Foods after 27 years of dedicated service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Lee Rochester; and a son, Donzele Stansbury Rochester.

He is survived by four children, Marvel Rochester of Easton, Beverly Rochester-Johnson and her husband, James, of Kuwait, the Rev. Clarence Rochester and his wife, Eunice, of Greensboro and Derwin Rochester and his wife, Katie, of Magnolia, Del.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pop Pop;" an aunt, Dorothy Stansbury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Community Baptist Church, Barclay.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Rochester Memorial Cemetery.
