Louis E. Benson

SMYRNA - Louis E. Benson, Sr. passed away at the Gilchrist Hospice Care on Aug. 23, 2017 located in Towson, Md.
Louis was born in Cambridge, Md. On May 24, 1945 to the late Floyd S. Benson and Helen V. Dixon. He was raised by the late Lula Mae Thompson of Cambridge, Md. He retired from retail management and became a driver for the Delaware school system.
We all knew Louis for his extraordinary personality and people would naturally gravitate to him. He loved to talk, but knew how to listen and make you feel special. He was a champion of all men.
Louis is survived by his wife, Judy A. Benson; children, Angela, Louis Jr., Kelly and Tracey; brothers and sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to his memorial service located at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 341 Saulsbury Rd., Dover, DE 19904, on Sept. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. Repast immediately follows.
