DOVER - Lorna May Vella, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Lorna was born on Feb. 27, 1926, in Westfield, N.J., daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Kingsland) Dawson. She retired after 32 years where she worked as a certified nursing assistant for Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, N.J. Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Americo "Pump" Vella in 2009. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Vella and his wife Gail, and Danny Vella; grandchildren, Tim Vella, Tory Vella, Michelle Vella, Lisa Simpkins, Christine Goodell, and Richard Parello; great-grandchildren, Shane Simpkins, Kelsey Simpkins, Teddy Malone, Tiffany Goodell, Tabitha McDonald; and a great-great-granddaughter, Mya McDonald.
