Lois Oneida (Coleman) Kendall, 81
ROCK HALL, Md. - Lois Oneida (Coleman) Kendall of Rock Hall died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 81.
Mrs. Kendall was born in Rock Hall on June 18, 1926, daughter of the late Arthur and Alva (Kelley) Coleman.
She graduated from Rock Hall High School in 1942.
On Oct. 5, 1946, she married Calvin R. Kendall. They made their home in Rock Hall, where she raised her family. Together they built Kendall"s Marina, now part of North Side Marina, which they operated for a number of years. The family also owned and operated K Foods in Rock Hall for several years.
Mrs. Kendall was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 86, as well as Rock Hall United Methodist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kendall is survived by a son, Arthur Kendall and his wife Bonnie of Rock Hall; a daughter, Gail Claggett and her husband Herschell of Chestertown; a sister, Charlotte Darok of Chestertown; five grandchildren, Christopher Kendall and his wife Stacy, Amy Hague and her husband Wade, Mark Kendall and his wife Jacquie, Kyle Kirby and Brad Kirby; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Rock Hall United Methodist Church, where relatives and friends may call one hour earlier.
Interment will be private in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
