Linda Garnette Jarvis

HARTLY - Linda Garnette Jarvis passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Jarvis was born on Nov. 6, 1946 in Modesto, Calif., the daughter of the late Dee and Mary McGraw.
Linda was a lifetime member of The Girl Scouts, The Cooking Club of America, The Red Hat Society, and worked with The Boy Scouts Youth Group.
She enjoyed reading, teaching art class with children, her pets, and sewing. Linda also enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger.
She is survived by her daughters, Roxanna M. Parrish and her husband Bill of Camden, Brittney N. Jarvis of Hartly, Victoria L. Holderman and her husband Damien of Hartly, Lea Deana K. Cales of W.Va., and Peggy S. Mitchell and her husband Mitch of Wilmington; her son, Kermit Keith Cales and his wife Debbie of Florida; and numerous grandchildren including Matthew, Andrew, Dillion, Eric, Caleb, Haley, Collin, and Carson; and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Brenda Bennett and her husband Darrell of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Sue Bates of Hickory, N.C., Deana Haas of Hartly, and Mary Bragg and her husband David of Moore, Okla.; her ex-husband who remained close to her, James Goddard of Smyrna; and many close friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna.
Services and burial will be privately held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's name may be sent to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
