DOVER - Lillian M. Acosta passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Capitol Healthcare Nursing Home. Mrs. Acosta was born June 27, 1930 in Ridley Park, Penn., to the late Jeff Davis Golden and Sarah Ann Shaub Golden. She worked for Kraft Foods as a machine operator for 21 years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Acosta was a member of Ladies Auxiliary for the Dover Elks Lodge, DAFB AMC Museum, and Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was voted USO Volunteer of the year. Mrs. Acosta enjoyed crocheting and loved arranging flowers, and doing crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Acosta, in 2014. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Reed and husband, Doug, of Dover, Myrna Hudson and her husband, Robert, of Laurel; stepdaughter, Renee Davis and her husband, Mark, of Memphis, Tenn.; stepson, Richard "Rick" Acosta, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Rose Lopez, of Reedley, Calif.; grandchildren, William Burge and his wife, Dina, Jeffrey Oliver and his wife, Melanie, Kaitlin Callaway and her husband, Sean, Erin Brennan and her husband, William, Jeremy Taylor and his significant other, Samantha Dykes, Jesse Acosta, Trey Acosta, Rene Acosta, Tiffany Williams and Jena Busby, Josh Davis and Darrel Davis; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Capitol Healthcare Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
