Lillian Ann Lehowit McMichael

DOVER - Lillian Ann Lehowit McMichael, age 81 of Dover, went to be with her husband Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was the wife of the late William A. McMichael Jr. who died in 2006 after 54 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Stella Skonieczna Lehowit Ware. Lillian was very involved with the Glasgow Civic Association starting in 1992. Her influence led to significant development in the Greater Glasgow area. She loved going to casinos in Atlantic City and Dover and was an avid Phillies fan. In her early years she supported her boys who loved playing baseball. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. The family would like to acknowledge Seasons Hospice and their CNA Donna who provided excellent care during her time of need. Survivors include three sons, William "Mike" McMichael (Kathleen) of Delaware City, Gary McMichael (Roxanne) of Clayton Kenneth (Kenny) McMichael (Tracy) of Newark and; one daughter, Cynthia Littleton (Harry) of Milford; two sisters, Irene Ballance of New Castle and Carol Parsons (Walter) of Dover who cared for Lillian for over three years; three grandchildren, Lori Beth, Emily and Nathan; one great granddaughter, Lowan who was born the same day as Lillian's passing; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Lehowit of New Castle. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Lehowit. You are invited to visit with Lillian's family from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St. Middletown, DE 19709. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Longwood Cemetery in Kennett Square, Pa.
