WYOMING, Del. - Lewis Denham, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born September 2, 1955, to the late Harvey and Ruth Denham, and spent his entire life in Delaware.
Known for his mechanical skill and love for any kind of truck, Lewis owned and operated several independent companies over the years: Denham Trash Collection, Lewie D's Limo Service, and Denham Trucking. He was last employed as a maintenance specialist by the Town of Wyoming, where he managed equipment and inventory and kept the Wyoming park and playground in working order. He took pride in mowing and flower care for the town and in holiday decoration, with which his family pitched in to help, since he was otherwise a "one man gang." Lewis also had a love for animals, and he sheltered and cared for many pets at home and variety of animals through his work.
Lewis was married for 46 years to his beloved wife and life partner, Norma Jean Denham. They built a family together and were blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Lewis was a proud father and "Poppop," and his memory will be cherished by his family.
In addition to his parents; Lewis was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Larnerd and Kathleen Coverdale.
Besides his wife; he is survived by his son, Joshua Denham (Amy); his daughters, Christina Feaster, Ruth Nicar, and Angela Denham; his grandchildren, Claire, Joel, Evelyn, Micah, Brandon, Alyssa, Nick, Kayla, Izzabella and Willow; and his great-grandchildren, Ryan and J.J. He will also be remembered and missed by four siblings, Benjamin Denham, Vivian Isola, Juniata Burke, and Mitchell Denham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
