Levin Irving Hutchison Jr., 85
SMYRNA - Levin Irving Hutchison Jr., age 85, of Smyrna, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Mr. Hutchison was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. He was the first Certified Diesel Mechanic in Delaware. Mr. Hutchison built his own boat and used it to fish for flounder in the Indian River. His wife Lorraine, who worked as a welder during World War II, used that skill to rivet his boat trailer that he used to transport his boat. Mr. Hutchison excelled with his woodworking. He enjoyed bowling and making everyone he loved laugh. Mr. Hutchison is survived by his son, L. Irving Hutchison III and wife Carole; four daughters, Gail Beutler, Joyce Manwiller, Linda Brannock and husband Bob, Carol Burns and husband Curt; his sister-in-law, Mary Hutchison; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Hutchison; brother, Lewis Hutchison; sister, Betty Eastburn; great-grandchild, Aiden Cahall; son-in-law, Carl Manwiller; and his parents, Irving and Clara Hutchison Sr. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna, from 10-11 a.m. followed by a service in celebration of Mr. Hutchison's life at 11 a.m. Burial will be in White Clay Creek Cemetery, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark.
