READING, PA - LeVar Demond Batson, departed this earthly life on Friday, April 17, 2009, in Reading, Pa. He was 31. LeVar who was a loving son of Cynthia A. Brittingham, was born on Dec. 24, 1977 in Cambridge, Md. LeVar attended the public schools of Dorchester County. While in high school he and his family relocated to Lewes in 1993. He graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes in 1995. After graduation he was gainfully employed as a construction worker and part-time bouncer. He enjoyed drawing, drag racing, boxing, viewing comedy shows, restoring old cars, African art and old school music. LeVar was a devoted father, son, brother and nephew. Loving memories will be cherished by his mother, Cynthia; two daughters, Shakira and A'jah Batson of Lusby, Md.; one son, Savion Batson of Lusby, Md.; one brother, JoDell Batson of Bridgeville; grandmother, Eva Lorraine Bolden of Federalsburg, Md.; two aunts, Georgia Davis ( J.D.) Of East New Market, Md., and Faye Batson of Hurlock, Md.; one uncle, Carlos Batson of Hurlock, Md.; a special friend, Letia Dennison of Lusby, Md.; a good friend, Toby Fambro; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at Hurlock United Methodist Church, Hurlock, Md. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Hurlock, Md., and two hours prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg, Md. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Seaford. Letters of condolence may be sent and guest book may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
