Lawrence R. Alfele Jr.

MILFORD - Lawrence R. Alfele Jr. of Milford, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2011. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Lawrence R. Sr. and Elizabeth Coor Alfele. Larry proudly served in the US Army, in the European Theatre, during World War II. He retired from Sears in Wilmington in 1985 and moved to Lewes, where he spent many happy hours aboard his beloved boat "Sea Deuce", docked in Rehoboth. He also worked at R & L Liquors in Lewes. Larry was a member of Asbury U.M. Church, Harrington and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Jefferson Lodge in Lewes. He also enjoyed watching his beloved Phillies and Eagles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; sons, Lawrence III and Robert; and a cousin, Paul Alfele. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte "Vicky"; three stepdaughters, LuAnn Jester, Lori Bailey (Fred), both of Harrington, and Lisa Morgan (Steve) of Seaford; six step-grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Jester, Kate Jester, Nick Derek, Erin, and Kristin Bailey; and his cousins, Fred Alfele (Pat) and Nancy Green (Jim). Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
