Lawrence James Shea

HOUSTON - Lawrence James Shea passed away peacefully at his home on July 28, 2018. Lawrence was born in Wisconsin on April 25, 1931, the son of the late Joseph D. and Clara Malek Shea.
He was a graduate of Bridgetown High School in Bridgeton, N.J., class of 1949. He worked for many years at General Foods before retiring. He was an avid farmer and loved to attend auctions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Shea; a sister, Maxine Green; a grandson, Lawrence James "L J" Shea III; a granddaughter, Jennifer Myer; and his beloved daughter, Linda Marie Shea.
He is survived by his former wife, Charlotte Shea Stevenson; his sisters, Arlene Wilma, of Wisconsin and Florence Mancus, of New Jersey; five sons, Lawrence J. Shea, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Henderson, Nev., Daniel J. Shea and companion Jane, of Seaford, Michael C. Shea and his wife Shelly, of Greenwood, Scott P. Shea and his wife Terri, of Seaford, and Joseph D. Shea and his wife Christine, of Houston; two daughters, Kathleen P. Haring, of Greenwood and Jo Ann Wasserloos and her husband Pete, of Greenwood; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where a Celebration of Life will be held from 8 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Houston Volunteer Fire Company, 143 Broad Street, Houston, DE 19954.
