Laurence D. Rowley, 87 GEORGETOWN - Laurence D. Rowley, 87, of Georgetown, formerly of Centreville, Va., passed away on June 1, 2010, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. Mr. Rowley was born in Birmingham, Ala. on Dec. 29, 1922, to the late Laurence and Neva Gilmore Rowley. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Rowley previously worked for the Fairfax County Government in Fairfax, Va., as a map draftsman. He retired in 1987. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father. Laurence is survived by his wife of 43 years, Edith H. Rowley; a son, Elwood Rowley of Georgetown; son, Franklin Kearns of Manassas Va.; a daughter, Valerie Thomas and husband Keith of Georgetown; son, Laurence D. Rowley II of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one brother, Ronald Rowley of Pawleys Island, S.C..; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 5, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
