Laura P. Reynard, 56

DOVER - Laura P. Reynard of Dover passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at home. She was 56.

Lorie was born July 14, 1951, in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., to Dorothy C. (Harris) Pedicone and the late Sabatine A. Pedicone.

She completed her training to be a registered nurse at the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Wilmington. She received her bachelor's degree from Wilmington College and her master's in psychology from Washington College, Chestertown, Md.

Lorie began her nursing career in the drug rehabilitation unit at Emily Bissell Hospital, Wilmington. Throughout her career she worked primarily as a psychiatric and community mental health nurse. Her career included a head nurse position at the methadone clinic at Kent County Counseling Services in Dover. She was also employed with the Eastern Family Institute of Dover, and for five years at the psychiatric unit of Kent General Hospital.

Later in her career she worked as a counselor at People's Place in Milford, and as a case manager at Psychotherapeutic Services in Dover.

Lorie also worked in a medical surgical unit in what is now referred to as Wilmington Hospital, at a pediatrician's office in Wilmington, and at the Student Health Center at Wesley College, Dover.

In her retirement she became a loyal member of the Dover Century Club.

Lorie was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy C. Harris Pedicone of Lewes; her husband of 37 years, John "David" Reynard of Dover; a son, John M. Reynard and his wife Stefany of Bethlehem, Pa.; a brother, Sam Pedicone and his wife Linda of Berkeley, Calif.; a sister, Ellen Marie Kuemmel and her husband Barry of Bluff City, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Sasha and Will; and a large extended family.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Dover Century Club Education and Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 884, Dover, DE 19903.
